it's necessary for owners to separate the cost basis of building and land
for depreciation purposes. Land value is not depreciated while building
value is depreciated for tax. The following options are available to
determine land value. #1. Obtain an appraisal that separates land from building value.

if they have separated the value of land and building for your property. If
so, you can apply their % allocation of land/building to your purchase price.
